Restaurant Menu Board Image Size: JPG, PNG and Screen Fit
Prepare readable JPG or PNG restaurant menu images, choose dimensions for a wide screen, and avoid cropped prices and unsupported uploads.
The right size
TVs are 16:9. Design at 1920 by 1080 pixels, or 3840 by 2160 if you have 4K screens. Anything in that shape fills the TV exactly with no black bars.
Readable prices
On a 1080p design, keep prices at least 60 pixels tall and item names at least 40 pixels. From ten feet away that is about the size of a thumbnail. Dark text on a light background, or light text on a dark background, reads best under store lighting.
JPG or PNG
JPG for photos and gradients, PNG for flat colors, logos and sharp text. Avoid HEIC, PDF, GIF and WebP; export them as JPG or PNG first. Renaming a file's extension does not convert it.
Show entire image versus Fill screen
Show entire image never crops: a portrait or square image appears with black bars at the sides, but every price stays visible. Fill screen stretches the image to cover the whole TV and crops the edges. Use it only for 16:9 images with a safe margin.
File size
Free and Basic accept files up to 10 MB. Multi and higher accept up to 300 MB; the image is optimized in your browser before upload, so even a large design file loads fast on the TV.
